Invitation Program (PDF:520KB)
The second East Asia Summit (EAS) was held in January 2007 and “Cooperation Initiative for Clean Energy and Sustainable Growth” was presented in the Summit. Based on the initiative, Research Core for Asian Biomass Energy (ABECORE) and Asia Biomass Energy Cooperation Promotion Office (Asia Biomass Office) have been established in the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and New Energy Foundation (NEF) respectively to cooperate practically and effectively with participating countries of EAS in the biomass energy sector.
Asia Biomass Office and ABECORE are jointly carrying out Invitation Program started in FY2008 that invites researchers from EAS countries to promote their research activities in each country.
In FY2009, an applicant’s option was added to the program in order to expand the research fields and institutions.
In this FY2011, a new research scheme is applied to the program in order to study on the potential for practical utilization or industrialization of research outcomes accumulated through the program in the past years.
2. Program Description
Potentials of practical utilization/industrialization are studied for the purpose of making a plan of collaborative work among governmental laboratories, local governments, universities, private companies, etc. in Japan and EAS countries. The study is based on the research outcomes implemented under the Asia Biomass Energy Researchers Invitation Program in the past years. New subject in this year is also welcomed.
There are rooms for the basic research in the biomass energy sector.
Under the Invitation Program, research fields in the Call for Application are as follows;
- Biofuel Production
- Quality Control and Standardization
- LCA
