   Supply potential of feedstock/bio-fuels and present status of utilization  
    3.1 Type of feedstock:

    3.2 Production of feedstock
  ① Tallow: ~ 120,000 tons per annum.
  ② Rapeseed: see Biodiesel New Zealand below
  ③ Waste vegetable oil: estimate of 5,000 tons per annum
  ④ Whey: see below.

 
    3.3 Producing capacity and refining capacity of bio-fuels
3.3.1 Biodiesel by transesterification
  (1) From tallow - approximately 11 million litres per annum
  (2) From waste vegetable oil - approximately 4 million litres per annum
3.3.2 Bioethanol from whey
  (1) Approximately 2 million litres per annum for fuel ethanol.

 
    3.4 Present status of utilization of feedstock and bio-fuels
