2.2 Policy of bio-fuels:
2.2.1 There is a tax advantage for ethanol when used as a fuel in comparison with petrol due to zero excise on ethanol (versus 42.524 NZ cents per litre excise on petrol).
2.2.2 No tax advantage for biodiesel in comparison to diesel - use of both subject to Road User Charges (RUC) when used in vehicles on the road.
